For our new planting and replanting programme, we follow Zero Burning as per Malaysian law (A1102 Act/Environment Quality Act 2001).
Accordingly, all operation units are hereby required to comply with the following with immediate effect. In the event that we have to carry out open burning, the following will apply:
- There shall be no open burning of any kind except where deemed necessary with the prior approval of the relevant authorities. This includes domestic waste, agricultural waste, and biomass or by-products generated by the estates and palm oil mills.
The above procedures will be updated as and when necessary.
